29. The Diagnosis

Isabella was anxious about her father and as
such she was cleaning to keep herself busy

"Mum, calm down whats going on. you're
cleaning you never clean?" Carl said once he cornered her

"Well Grandpa Sean has gone into hospital" Isabella said
 "we don't know anything else yet"

"Well ok then, we go and see him tomorrow?" Carl said trying
 to stay calm for his emotional mother
 "maybe we should get some sleep"

"Yeah good idea" Isabella said

So Carl joined his brother and went to sleep

After freaking out some more Isabella concurred with her son
and went to bed for a good nights rest

Meanwhile Kaylee had arrived at her husbands side in
 the hospital

"Hello you must me Mrs Radford, my name is
Dr Olsen and i am the doctor overseeing your
 husbands recovery" Dr Olsen said

"Yes, i'm Kaylee Radford. Can you tell me what has happened
 to my husband, I told him not to play tonight but he
wouldn't listen. Kaylee said distraught

"Your Husband has suffered from what we call a mini stroke,
due to over-exertion of himself. Now it hasn't left any
permanent damage, however he may be prone to ful
l strokes after this episode." Dr Olsen informed Kaylee

"as well as that he collapsed mid-run on the field and has
 done some serious damage to his leg. now it is healing rather
quickly after the operation we gave him shortly after arrival,
 however it may be some time before he is able to walk
 properly, if ever." Dr Olsen continued

"I knew he wasn't right to play, when will he wake?" Kaylee said

"He is under a heavy sedative now and it's best we let
 him sleep so his body can recover quickly.
 he should wake sometime tomorrow and
depending on his condition we may
 let him leave or we may keep him under
 observation another night." Dr Olsen said

"Now, i would suggest that you head home for the night and
get some sleep then come back tomorrow" Dr Olsen said
From the look of Kaylee's face he could see that
she wasn't leaving for a minute

"or if you must you can sleep on the couch"
 Dr Olsen said defeated
 "I will be back in the morning"

"Thank you Dr Olsen" Kaylee said "goodnight"

so whilst Sean slept on

his wife went to sleep on the hard uncomfortable couch

Meanwhile back at home Zeke was enjoying having Kaylee
 and Sean's double bed all to himself

in the morning Nigel made them all breakfast as a special treat

the minute the sun came through the window Kaylee
was up with a start, hoping that last nights event
was just a dream

Dr Olsen came in briefly to check on Sean and his reports

However he quickly left to attend to other patients

Back home Nigel was trying to hold a conversation over breakfast by talking with Jovan
"So Jovan, i realize we haven't really told you what's going
 on with Grandpa Sean" Nigel said

"Dad i know what's happened Grandpa Sean is in hospital
because he collapsed at his game last night"
 Jovan said "I heard Issy telling Carl last night"
turns out Jovan gets super good alien hearing as well

After breakfast they all rushed to the hospital

And made it to Sean's room in record time

"Come on boy's lets wait in the waiting room ok?" Nigel said
and tookhimself and the boys outside

"Hey mum, how is dad?" Issy said

"He had a mini stroke and did some damage to his leg
but the doctor said he should be alright" Kaylee replied

"But we need to wait until he wakes up to
 know for sure" Kaylee said

"Well i'm not going anywhere" Issy said

"ok then honey" Kaylee said

with that they both  sat down and waited

Not even an hour had passed when Sean sat up groaning

Isabella ran to get Dr Olsen

Kaylee just calmly walked towards her husband

By the time Dr Olsen got there Sean was sitting up and receiving
 a nice little lecture from Kaylee

"It's good to see you awake Mr Radford" Dr Olsen said

Issy decided to go outside and wait with they boys now that she
 knew that her father was in good hands

"i'm going to need you to leave whilst i perform
some final tests on Sean" Dr Olsen said
 "we will call you when you can return"

"ok then, just let me know soon?" Kaylee said before leaving

As a special treat they decided to go out for lunch,
 it was a very quite meal

After that they went home and awaited news of Sean

Nigel had to work so he quickly left

Carl decided to talk to lail again , big surprise there....

Kaylee just sat and waited

at around 7 Kaylee got a phone call from the hospital
"Ok i will be over in a few minutes" she answered

"I'm going to get Sean" she yelled as she ran out the door

She got to his room in record time

"Now Sean may go home tonight however he isn't to
work for a while and must come in for checkups
on a weekly basis until i say otherwise." Dr Olsen said

"What about his leg, can he walk on it?" Kaylee asked

"He is still a bit wobbly and shouldn't spend to much time
 on his feet so it can heal properly" Dr Olsen answered

"Come on Mr Radford you can go home now" Dr Olsen said

Sean made his way slowly off the bed

and quickly grabbed a cane for support as he
hobbled over to Kaylee

"Thanks Doc, i feel better already" Sean said

"haha, no problem Mr Radford. it is my job
 after all" Dr Olsen said

"Here take this for the pain" Dr Olsen said

"i know what you are thinking but it works wonders" He contiued

So Sean swallowed the tablet with great difficulty

Dr Olsen then left and gave the two some time alone

"Don't you ever do that to me again" Kaylee warned

"I wouldn't even dream of it" Sean said

With that they headed home to loving warmth of the family

Hey guys i know this post is extreamly late and i have no real excuse other than i couldn't seem to find the inspiration to sit down and write but it's all finished now so enjoy. on another note the poll decided not to work as usual so if you guys could just comment again the one hair you pick i will put a tally up on the side of the page. Next post i think i will age up Jovan and Carl and maybe have a simself visit ( i mean i will actually do it this time lol)
